Service Description
Obtain a permit to place static or dynamic advertisements on building façades and rooftops, promote an item or event, display a logo or product, or feature building names in illuminated or non-illuminated dimensional letters.
Service Completion
- Advertising on wall signs and building rooftops: 6 working days
- Advertising on digital screen: 7 working days
- Building or tower name permits: 1 working day
- Air balloons or air-filled product model permits: 3 working days
- Advertising on product models: 3 working days
- Renew advertisements on all types of signboards: 3 working days
Required Documents
Permit to advertise on building rooftops, digital screens, or product models:
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the land or property owner, stating the permission period
- Design of the proposed advertising location including on-site measurements, dimensions and the advertising content
Permit to advertise on building façades or to place building and tower names :
- NOC from the land or property owner, stating the permission period
- Design of the proposed advertising location including on-site measurements, dimensions and the advertising content
Permit to advertise on air balloons or air-filled product models installed on the building:
- NOC from the land or property owner, stating the permission period
- NOC from the relevant authorities in case of installation of a balloon model
- Design of the proposed advertising location including on-site measurements, dimensions and the advertising content
Important to Know
- For signboards more than 3m high on lands under Building Control Authority, the applicant must obtain initial approval from the Advertisement Section. The application is then transferred to Building Control Authority Building Activities Control Department – Construction Control Section for the approval of structural plans and completion certificate.

Follow these simple steps:
To apply for the permit
- Log in to the Municipal Services Portal for outdoor advertisements.
- Select the required permit and fill in the applicant information and location details.
- Upload the documents and apply for the service.
- Receive Municipality reply (approved/rejected/to be amended or completed) through the Municipal Services Portal.
- Pay the fees.
- In case of approval, receive the permit through the Municipal Services Portal.
To transfer the permit to another owner
- Apply for permit cancellation through the Municipality Municipal Services Portal for outdoor advertisements.
- Upload a waiver for the signboard and structure from the first company holding the permit to the second company to which the permit is being transferred.
- Pay any outstanding amounts or dues related to the permit.
- The new owner submits an application through the website, uploads the documents, and pays the fees.
